I did not like the Nikon 18-70 at first on my Nikon D40, but on my Nikon D70, the camera and lens really get along well. The balance is wrong on the Nikon D40, with the lens being too heavy on the front. But i will try again in the future with the Nikon D40.
The balance on the Nikon D70 is just perfect.
This is a pretty good hiking lens at around 390 grams.
You can pick them up on mpb.com in good shape for around 41.00 dollars, maybe a little fungus and dust. Looks like an easy lens to clean the front element.
The white balance needs to be slightly adjusted in post.
You can’t go wrong with this lens on an old Nikon DX camera.
I have not seen a big snail in a long time, which is kind of scary.
