I traveled to Riobamba to ride the “devils nose train ride,” but unfortunately there is only a small section open (Riobamba to Palmira.) The last section of the train ride is supposed to be the most exiting with high speeds down a twisting steep mountain.

Banos, Ecuador
Located South of Quito, Ecuador about 3 ½ hours by bus, you will find the quaint town of Banos, Ecuador. Banos is famous for the thermal baths that are fed with volcanic hot water.
This is a nice travel destination in Ecuador, South America to visit for a week or two. Some people travel here and never leave. The climate is pretty good with warm to hot days and cool nights.
Boiled Shrimp in Salt Water
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs of big fresh shrimp bought from an old toothless man with a big grin. His big cooler should be pretty well worn and kept in the middle of his shack. It also helps that he has old fishing net strewn about, so you are sure to get tangled in it. Maybe an old lazy dog with three legs adds a little extra fun.

Before I knew it the paraglider came to life with a tug of the harness and Dick was looking up into his glider for the quick pre-flight check. Then he walked toward the edge of the cliff and gently became airborne.
While staying at “Camping Iguana” in Canoa, Ecuador I had a chance to tag along with a guy (Dick) from England to watch him paraglide. We left around 3:00 pm in the afternoon for the steep cliffs overlooking Canoe, Ecuador.

5.00-dollar paradise in Canoa, Ecuador
I arrived Monday in Canoa, Ecuador and this travel destination is pretty nice. The bus ride from Quito, Ecuador took around 8 hours and the bus was mostly empty. Though we are lacking in the sunshine department here. The temperature is pleasant during the day, even without the sun and the nights are cool.

Old town in Quito, Ecuador is a really nice part of town to explore. They have some beautiful building to see and lots of nice places to eat. My first few nights I stayed in New town Quito and it is more of the party atmosphere with lots of bars.
