After you become bored out of your mind in Altagracia, go and take the tour of the main church across from the Parque Central. There are some Mayan statues and other artifacts in the older building.
The guy dressed like a bum that comes to collect your dollar actually works there and is not the town drunk. He became pretty upset at me when I refused to hand over a dollar to him until he proved he worked at the church.
