Mostly these pictures are of reflections off the water. Plus some birds and random photos. I was using the AF-S Nikkor 55-200 mm lens with VR. When I was shooting the geese, I set the AF-area mode on closest subject. I was having a hard time focusing in on the geese and birds. I batch cropped the photos in Gimp so the quality is reduced on purpose. Movie at bottom of page show … [Read more...] about Reflections was the theme of the day out with the Nikon D70.
So I bought a Nikon d70 digital camera online for 49.00 dollars. No tax and free shipping. FedEx. Slap me. Plus it only had around 4100 shutter clicks. Poor thing. Give me photos that are not perfect. Give me wrinkles. A good brie on sour dough toast that I made myself. A straight jacket that has padded elbows. A good artisan soap that gets soggy in the soap dish. You … [Read more...] about Nikon D70 6MP shootout. Old school is New school. Paid 49.00 dollars.
Sometimes I just want a camera that the thieves can steal without me giving a damn. The kind that I can walk in the ghetto and the hustlers have a better camera than me. It has a sliding cover that reveals the lens and flash. Also, the sliding cover turns the camera on and off. Camera is made of metal! So I bought a Casio Ex-V8 on ebay for 4 dollars. The shipping was around … [Read more...] about Casio Ex-V8 3rd world ghetto camera. Paid 4 dollars on ebay.
For some reason is of this yellow flower. Well I guess the reason was of the shadow it cast on the leaf below. This one day I walked through this field and all the flowers were in full bloom. Later that month I returned and the field was empty. Like life...we are here and then gone. Hopefully I’m a perennial. Nikon d60 and Nikon 18-55mm lens. … [Read more...] about My favorite recent photo of a flower.
I was slapping mosquitoes off my ankles and cursing aloud. Finally giving up capturing a picture of that elusive bald eagle that fly's above in the brilliant Tennessee sky. Low and behold walking past the bird bath I spotted a yellow looking flying bug. Well, I’m always curious. So I took a close look and observed his legs were still kicking. So I picked up a green leaf and … [Read more...] about Bug Rescue

If you ever pass through the small town of Pikeville, Tennessee you will find this church sitting about a quarter mile outside of town. Ask how to find it, because it sits on some back road. Unfortunately you passed away before my eyes. Riding my bicycle one day I came across you in the road. I thought you were just stunned and placed you in the bushes out of harms way. Placing you in my bike bag I road as fast as I could to get you … [Read more...] about I tried to save you my friend
