Made it to El Salvador.

Staying in Santa Ana for a couple days. Took a chicken bus from San Pedro, “Lago de Atitlan” Guatemala to Guatemala City (4 hours.) Then a taxi to the bus station. Caught a luxury bus to Santa Ana, El Salvador that took around 4 hours.

Been exploring the town and not eating very good (lots of bread products.) Went and had my teeth cleaned and might have my discolored tooth fixed tomorrow, but the dentist did a pretty good job of polishing it, so that it matches my other tooth.

Also went to the museum Regional De Occidente in town and it’s about the agave plant that tequila is made from. They use the agave plant strictly for making fiber. Then the museum had some history of the El Salvador currency and the destruction caused by a volcano eruption.

Internet access it a rather pain here and can’t use my laptop in Internet café. So I’m using my thumb drive.

Went to the bank and made sure my bankcard was working. They use the USA dollar here in El Salvador.

The #1 tip for getting ready to travel?

Buy your plane ticket to your destination! I’ve always found that the only way to truly get ready for leaving home is to purchase your plane ticket. That forces you to mentally get all the little stuff done around home.
