I really like the people of Perquin, El Salvador and the town is very quaint. The was the headquarters of the FMLN during the war and the town is known as “the town that refused to die. The big attraction is the “Museo de la Revolucion” and a must see if you coming to Perquin or going to be nearby. … [Read more...] about Perquin, El Salvador
If you were staying in Perquin or nearby then I would say this is a town to visit to learn some of the history of El Salvador’s civil war. The town is very easy to reach by a combination of bus, pickup and walking. In Perquin you can go on a guided tour for $5.00 USD dollars and they handle all the logistics of getting you there. My friend and I were walking the last couple … [Read more...] about Mozote, El Salvador the scene of the country’s most atrocious wartime massacre.

The people are friendly, but one local told me there are some gangs to be concerned about. … [Read more...] about San Miguel, El Salvador

On the far eastside of Costa del Sol, El Salvador you will find the run down town of La Puntila. I took the bus from Playa Los Blancos for 35 cents and had a peek around. The people are very friendly, but the town is nothing more that a shantytown. I guess the big attractions are the little islands off the shore to go exploring. The hotels looked pretty rough and they want big … [Read more...] about La Puntilla (Costa del Sol)
Los Blancos beach seems deserted February 6, 2010. Not much to do, but swim and catch some rays. Maybe wait for the small fishing boats to come ashore after a long day of fishing. I was helping the fishermen push their boats ashore after each wave of the incoming tide. There are a couple small comedores to grab a cheap meal and so far I have had no trouble with an upset … [Read more...] about Los Blancos Beach (El Salvador)
Normally I’m not scared of Roosters, but this guy was a bad ass. I took a picture of him and he got an attitude with me. Chased me down the block and I believe if he would have caught me I would have took a good beating. … [Read more...] about Guard rooster in El Salvador.
